In both of your scenario's the answer is no. If you want 2 processors, either go Duo-Core, (one processor with 2 processor cores to them). Or get a motherboard that supports 2 processor. But there is no way to add a second CPU slot to a motherboard that does not have it. Plus there is no physical way to plug to Processors into one slot.

Are you referring to your hard drives or your processor? I'll try my best to answer both questions.

If you are referring to using two separate hard drives, each hard drive will fill up depending on where you install your programs. As long as you leave at least 10-15% of your hard drive's space you shouldn't suffer from any slow down. I have two hard drives in my desktop computer and I use one for system files and the other for my programs, music, pictures, and such. You shouldn't have any problems with programs installed on different drives as long as they aren't moved after installation. If you do wish to move them around, I would recommend uninstalling them and reinstalling them on a different drive.

If your question is referring to your processors, they will process data automatically. Your system, being a dual core processor, should be able to run several applications at once without slowing computer performance unless your RAM is low.
