Why won't my toshiba external drive connect to my hp laptop when it used to?
i got my toshiba external drive last tuesday and it worked perfectly...i backed up ALL my files on it and i do mean ALL now when i plug it into my laptop and desktop its not reading at all....please help me someone.

Have you tried to connect your external HD then while it is connected reboot the machine
Does your EX HD need a seperate power supply if so connect the HD then turn on the power supply if the OS is not seeing the unit then there may be a problem in the lead
If it is via a USB then try another
