Problems with Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection - Constantly connects and disconnects me from web?
I am experiencing trouble with my wireless internet on my Sony Vaio. I am running Windows XP and have experienced no trouble with my internet until recently. When I turn on my computer, I can connect to the internet without trouble and the icon in the corner of the screen says that I am connected. Everything works perfectly fine for about 3 minutes and then an icon appears "Unable to connect to preferred network" and it disconnects me from the internet. The weird thing is that after a few minutes I will be able to go on the internet using my wireless network, but the icon in the corner says that I am not connected to any wireless networks. Even during this time it will disconnect me every 5-10 minutes and give me the same "Unable to connect to the internet error message" and disconnects me from the net. Afterward, the wireless icon says "Not Connected" to a wireless network, but I can go online. I tried updating my drivers, but that failed to resolve the problem. Please help! Thank yo
It might be your wireless network, are you sure that you are connecting to your network and not some neighbor's. Check your router and if possible try another wireless laptop or pc and see if it will connect to the network
