Wifi Pcmcia

where to get a cheap used/refurbished notebook with wifi?
All I want is a small—say around 12"—notebook, its for doing very basic functions, mainly word processing and email, im more focused on battery life.
I'll be using either FreeBSD or Unbuntu as the system OS, so the more open the drivers are the better performance I can get out of it.
Min specs:
Battery life > ~2.5 hours
WiFi >= G compatible or PCMCIA port for a card i have.
Ram >= 512mb - unless upgrades available
HDD = NO minimum
CPU >= 700Mhz
Optical drive = NOT needed
USB 2.0 preferred
Im considering one of those ASUS Eee PCs but if i can get cheaper no matter what the specs its worth looking at.
I've been searching the net for a reasonable 8 hours with no luck—people must just chuck these things out or scrap the parts from them.
I live in Australia so please take into account the postage costs, many sites love to add a $60 rip off fee to maximise their profits.
as i see it, the asus eeepc meets all your requirements
the worst part would be getting some cheap stuff, only to find that it barely lasted so many weeks and has so and so defects and repair estimates would be thrice the amount you paid to get it !
simplest equation i can fore-see
besides, how the heck are you expecting 2.5 hrs of battery run time in a 2nd hand laptop
7" > 4g model or the higher 9" ones, whichever suits you is your best bet
as for storage space, card reader can take a 8 gb card, usb flash drive another 8 gb
external drives you can allways use >> terra byte levels too
besides you have a huge forum for users experimenting with all sorts of things on it
think about it & all the best on that
add:
Asus EeePC 901
The bottomline: The Eee PC 901 is better than its predecessor, the 900. It looks nicer, has a faster, more efficient CPU and better battery life. It's larger and 100g heavier and its keyboard is still too small for our liking, but in many ways it's the pick of the netbook litter
